1. Initial Consultation

There is no fee for our first consultation. We will outline our process and provide a sample financial plan, and answer any questions you may have. We'll discuss your personal goals and objectives to determine if our services will meet your needs.

2. Financial Goals Meeting

Once you've decided to work with us, we will meet to more clearly define your goals both for today, and for the future. We will also ask you to provide us with documents and information so we can assess your current investments and savings.

3. Strategy Development

Our team works internally to analyze your current position, and we may contact you for additional information. We will develop options and recommendations in areas such as:

  • Savings Rate and Locations
  • Portfolio Allocation
  • Tax Planning
  • Insurance Analysis
  • Estate Planning

4. Plan Presentation and Recommendations

We will meet to walk through your financial plan, making any desired adjustments together. We will then present a "what-if" analysis where you can see the impact of various financial decisions on your plan. We will provide our recommendations, but in many areas, our objective is to educate you on the available options and the impact of each so you can choose the option that fits you best. We want you to feel confident and informed in your own financial decisions, and aim to provide the tools and analysis to answer your questions.

This process may take multiple meetings, if there are areas that require further analysis after discussion.

5. Implementation

We will provide a list of action items to help you implement the agreed-upon strategies. We will provide as much support and do as much of the "heavy lifting" as we can. Where outside resources are needed (such as seeing an attorney for further estate planning and documentation), we will provide summary documents that may be helpful and are happy to hold joint meetings or conference calls.

6. Ongoing Support

We meet regularly (annually, semi-annually, or quarterly, depending on your situation) to monitor your plan and progress. If we are managing your investments, we track actual performance compared to our assumptions and make updates as needed. In particular, we can provide support when you are faced with large financial decisions and at life's transitions, such as moving, career changes, when kids move out of the home, and at retirement. We are always available throughout the year for unexpected changes or questions.
